How I Work
Psychodynamic Counselling
Psychodynamic counselling explores how your past experiences and unconscious mind influence your current thoughts and behaviours. By identifying recurring patterns, we can understand the "why" behind your emotional responses. This process helps bring the unconscious into conscious awareness, allowing you to resolve deep-seated conflicts rather than just managing symptoms. Through the connection we build together in our sessions, we gain insight into how you relate to yourself and others, creating space for lasting internal change.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)
I am trained with the IFS Institute and use this model to help you get to know the different parts of yourself. You might notice a part that feels highly critical, a part that feels the need to please others, or a part that carries a deep sense of anxiety.
These parts often step in to manage overwhelm or shield you from painful feelings. Often, they are doing their best to guard more sensitive parts that carry feelings of shame or sadness.
By approaching these parts with curiosity and compassion, we allow your core Self to take the lead. This process helps heal those internal wounds, bringing your system back into a state of balance and inner harmony.

EMDR Therapy
EMDR helps the brain process and release memories that feel “stuck,” reducing the emotional charge of painful experiences. It is highly effective for PTSD, phobias, anxiety, and the impact of traumatic events.

Adolescents & Creative Therapies
Young people don’t always have the words to express what they’re feeling. I offer a creative approach using art, sand tray, or clay to help emotions emerge naturally and safely. I also work closely with parents and guardians, providing regular check-ins to ensure the support remains helpful and aligned with the needs of the whole family.
Eating Disorder Support
Eating disorders often serve an important purpose, even if that purpose isn’t immediately clear. Together, we explore what role the eating disorder is playing—whether it’s offering a sense of control, numbing difficult emotions, or protecting you from deeper pain. A key part of the process is learning to recognise the eating disorder “noise” and gently quieten it, so your own voice and needs can come through more clearly.
Recovery is a journey that requires a wrap-around approach. To ensure your physical and emotional safety, I work as part of a multidisciplinary team where appropriate. This means I can collaborate with your GP, dietitian, or other healthcare professionals to provide a coordinated and robust support system.

IFIO Couples Therapy (Coming May 2026)
In May 2026, I will be introducing Intimacy from the Inside Out (IFIO), a profound, IFS-based model for couples. IFIO focuses on the “U-Turn,” helping each partner turn inward to unburden their own parts while the other witnesses with compassion. This process creates a depth of validation and connection that can be truly life-changing.
I am currently accepting enquiries for my May waiting list.
